Community Supported Agriculture
2017 Veggie Club Memberships
Why Join a CSA?
By subscribing to the Mosby's Veggie Club (CSA) program, you will:
BUY LOCAL. Your support helps small local farms stay afloat. Connect with the food you eat by meeting your farmers and knowing the land on which it is grown
EAT WELL. Purchase the freshest food for your family while experiencing new foods and how to cook with them.
BE HEALTHY. Eat more of the micronutrients found in fresh fruit and vegetables. Exposing your family to a variety of regional produce teaches healthy eating habits.
PROTECT THE ENVIRONMENT. Build a personal connection with your food, the land on which it was grown, and the farmers who planted and harvested it. By supporting local farmers who take care of their land by growing food in sustainable ways you help preserve diminishing farmland as open space.
YOUR DOLLAR. For every dollar you spend supporting a local farmer, rather than paying for long-distance shipping, packaging and refrigeration, 80% of that dollar stays local.
Mosby's Veggie Club Mission:
Our mission is to provide our customers with fresh, organic, and locally-grown produce. We want to help deepen the connection between our customers, the food they eat, and the ground in which it grows. We want people of all ages to learn-through a personal connection with the farm and farmer-how their food arrives at the table. We believe that seeing the ground where their produce comes from encourages people to be thoughtful stewards of their environment. We appreciate the support from our community. Our goal is to make our Veggie Club a great experience for all of our members.
What is Community Supported Agriculture?
Our Veggie Club program is designed to foster a relationship of mutual support and commitment between the farmer and the community. It allows members of the local community to have direct access to high quality, fresh produce grown by regional farmers. Mosby's Veggie Club members purchase a 'share' of the harvest up front. Your annual fee allows us to plan for the season, purchase new seed, make repairs to equipment, train employees and help cover the production costs of the farm; in exchange you receive a generous weekly share of the harvest. CSA programs, which are growing nationwide, help deepen the interest and support for organic farming and eating locally grown food.
2017 CSA program:
In order to bring the bounty of our farm directly to your table, we are making limited number of farm shares available for purchase. A farm share guarantees a bountiful weekly box of the best our farm has to offer throughout the growing season. This year our Veggie Club runs from the middle of June through the end of September. You will receive a weekly box of fresh vegetables, fruits and other farm products sourced from Mosby's Own, including our Certified Organic fields as well as from several other local farms. In addition, Veggie Club members receive 50 pounds of Mosby grown pumpkins available at our Pumpkin Patch.
